President

Leaders are not born in the Oval Office. They are born in classrooms, on student councils, in moments when a young person decides to stand up and say, I can lead. The boy in this picture is campaigning for his school. Start where you are. Lead where you are. The world needs your leadership.

About This Poster

This President motivational poster features a photograph of a young African American student campaigning at school, with the affirmation printed below the image. Part of the When I Graduate series, a set of motivational posters designed to introduce young people to careers that open up when they stay in school and work hard. The open edition poster is printed on paper and ready for framing or display as is.

The affirmation printed on the poster reads:

I'm going to be President

Why It Matters

When this series was created, a Black American president was a dream. In 2008, Barack Obama was elected the 44th President of the United States, proving the affirmation on this poster could come true. Student government, debate, and community service remain some of the first steps young leaders take.

About the Founder

Founder William Armstead built Motivational Product Depot, originally D'azi Productions, around the belief that history can motivate. Each poster in his collection connects a single word, such as courage, vision, or strength, to a moment or a person from Black history, so the lesson lands every time someone walks past it.
